Paris- the name of the city itself is a hallmark for so many things. Culture, Food, Fashion, Art, Literature and the list goes on. With so much to see and do in Paris, it is hard to narrow down to the essentials, while still having an experience that is a good balance of everything the city has to offer. So here are the things I did in Paris and loved! 1. Cruised on the Seine River Seeing Paris from a boat on the River Seine can be enchanting! And there are no lack of boats to chose from.The ride crosses the beautiful bridges and most of Paris' renowned structures. Musee d' Orsay, Eiffel tower, Louvre to name a few. Boats offer all range of services, from no frills only sightseeing with commentary, to complete package with gourmet meal and champagne. 2. We had the perfect Sunday lunch here. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with smiling faces, and ushered to a table. We went around to check the buffet spread and were convinced about trying it out.  To begin with we went to the Sushi counter. The sushis on display looked very interesting and we tried all of them. Perfectly balanced flavors and the quality was superlative. I believe we must have tried at least a couple of rounds of Sushi of all kinds, to our hearts content.  Next we tried the South Asian counters, which had the Indonesian, Singaporean flavors. There was a lot of prawns and fresh ingredients in these counters. Also there was the live counter, from which we hardly opted for anything. We next walked to the Indian counter to find chaats, knick knacks, and some tandoor starters, fish cutlets. Main course had a mix of North and South Indian options. What many may not know is Paris apart from being the obvious hub of French literature has also been a congregation of some of world's most brilliant exponents of English literature , and when one talks about English literature in Paris Shakespeare and Co , the old creaky bookstore situated in the Latin Quarters serve as the center of the universe. So when we went to Paris this Autumn we also decided to make the pilgrimage for English literature lovers to the bookstore with the green door. Episode 4: The Five Villages of CinqueTerre I am home now! Almost always busy with work and daily chores. This Sunday I sat idling for sometime trying to recollect the experiences that I had at Cinque Terre . Well, the trip had been exceptional and Cinque Terre stands out in my memory for its ethereal natural beauty. A cluster of Five small yet popular villages, this place is cut right out from a beautiful dream! Being from one of the largest thriving metropolitan cities in the world, when I travel to other cities and marvel at their structures and progress I still feel at home. But travelling through beautiful villages with lush vegetation and the emerald blue sea..it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. So I threw myself back by almost 3 weeks, in my mind it felt surreal to have gone to a place like that!
