Weekends can be exciting for many reasons. For us, one happy thought (apart from sleeping till late) is to plan our lazy brunches with friends somewhere, or cooking up a delicious meal at home. The entire weekend sets rolling with all of this. So on one such rainy weekend, we thought of giving the online site GourmetItUp a try for the first time. They had a lovely set meal option at Oh:Cha Restaurant and bar. This place had opened a few months ago, and we were planning to visit it ever since we had got some raving reviews. Located inside Mathurdas Mills compound, this place is almost hidden from sight. But as you walk in, the place turns around. The decor is understated, with beautiful hanging lamps all over the ceiling. Having reached there I realized that the place is run by an old friend. Tanai Shirali has been in the industry for several years now and I was happy to meet him after ages.
I am a sucker for Thai food, and the GourmetItUp set menu was interesting. The set menu is still on display at their site I believe. From the Salads, I ordered the Som Tam Kai (Thai Spicy raw papaya salad with grilled chicken). Thai raw papaya salad can tell you a great deal about the restaurant as it is not easy to get it right. The plate that arrived on our table however was very good. It was crisp, had the right flavors and a hint of heat from the chili.
The staff were very attentive, and always smiling. Our lunch had begun taking shape. Tanai came over personally to take the orders. It was heartening to see how he mingled with the customers, taking the orders himself and providing his suggestions. He was in full control of the show and ensuring everyone has a great time in his restaurant!

From the Appetizers, we ordered Kung Tempura ie Thai style Tempura prawns were crispy and light. They went perfectly with the sweetened soy sauce dip. Also we ordered Neua Yang ie. Grilled Beef tenderloin with spicy sauce (sorry that photo is grainy, so haven't shared here)
I ordered an Orange and Kaffir lime Capriojska , which was ab absolutely brilliant drink. The punch of the Kaffir lime tasted great. It went very well with my food.

From the Mains, we ordered Pla Kaw Nong Ma Nao ie. Steamed Fish with garlic chili sauce and Pad Mee Korat Ja ie Fried rice noodles with tofu. I liked the noodles however, the fish did not do much for me. It was well prepared but the sauce felt a tad bit bland on my palate.

Also in the Desserts we ordered Tum Tim Krob ie Water chestnut dumplings in fresh coconut syrup. It had a well balanced coconut syrup, and was decadent. My dish of the day was the salad, and my lovely Orange lime drink!

The place has all the right ingredients to turn into a success which it already has! Kudos to the team and their high standard of hospitality. I will surely re-visit when I get my next pang for some great Thai food.
