Pancakes for my Sunday!

I love this traditional American breakfast very much. I make Pancakes very often, and these soft, and light treats make for a very warm and comfortable breakfast.
In my childhood, my mother would make the savory pancake kinds, with vegetables and mushroom which were delectable. However, ever since I began making the traditional kinds, I feel that these  with maple syrup or honey are my favorites now. It is so very easy to make..one can say it is almost child’s play..

Ingredients- For 2 people
  • Flour- 1 and 1/2 cups
  • Salt- a pinch
  • Baking powder- 1 tsp
  • Egg- 2
  • Milk- 1 cup
  • Butter- 1 Tbsp; later 1-2 cubes to be placed above the ready pancakes
  • Maple syrup/ Honey- to drizzle over the pancakes
  1. Take the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl, viz. Flour, Salt, Baking powder and mix.
  2. To this, add Eggs, Milk and whisk till it forms a consistency which is neither too thick nor too runny.
  3. Over a flat non stick pan, add some butter to the surface. To this add a ladle of this mixture so that it spreads into a roundish shape (it could be any shape you chose, but traditionally it is round).
  4. Let the surface rise up to form bubbles, then flip over to the other side. The one side will then take a light to medium brown hue.
  5. Let both sides turn brownish, and transfer into plates. Scoop out a small cube of butter and let it melt onto the surface of the pancakes while it is warm. Drizzle some honey or maple syrup or chocolate sauce or all of the above together and serve to your children and loved ones.
Voila!

At Jamjar Diner's on Friendship's Day

We visited Jamjar Diner's on the first Sunday of August, also known as the Friendships day, well whatever it is called we just need a reason to meet our friends. Due to it's increasing popularity the place was packed with guests that day. But we didnt budge either, since we had zeroed in on the location beforehand. We chose to wait our turn for about 20 minutes.  There happened to be about a small area in the bar section next to the big black telephone.  We ordered our craft beer of Gateway Brewery whilst we waited. I ordered for a White Zen while my partner went with a Doppelganger . He is already a huge fan of their beer. The drink was very refreshing, and I absolutely adored mine.  White Zen of Gateway Brewery at Jamjar Doppelganger of Gateway Brewery at Jamjar There was a huge turn up on that day,as it was a weekend. Friends and a lot of families were having a good time, while we were counting the minutes. Finally we got a place to sit up...

The bad ass buffet at Global Fusion!

I have been to Global Fusion over eight times and I confess that till date I have never been able to taste all the dish on their menu. Such is the 'vastness' of their buffet! The very first time that we had been to this place, we were in for a surprise with this vast spread, but we learnt this soon enough and for our forthcoming trips we have been relatively prepared, because one cannot be fully prepared for this vast array of Asian food choices. Everything on their menu card happens to be on display, and one can order this together or in portions, for a fixed per head cost. Most of everything that they have on display are interesting options and good and the place is good value for money!  View from our Table 29 at Global Fusion Their display includes a Sushi counter. But my favorite is the Baked Prawn with Cheese and the Prawn Tempura. My husband is very fond of their Prawn Tempura and the Iceberg chicken. Their Tempura’s are perfectly crispy on the outside and m...

At 55 East, Grand Hyatt

We had the perfect Sunday lunch here. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with smiling faces, and ushered to a table. We went around to check the buffet spread and were convinced about trying it out.  To begin with we went to the Sushi counter. The sushis on display looked very interesting and we tried all of them. Perfectly balanced flavors and the quality was superlative. I believe we must have tried at least a couple of rounds of Sushi of all kinds, to our hearts content.  Next we tried the South Asian counters, which had the Indonesian, Singaporean flavors. There was a lot of prawns and fresh ingredients in these counters. Also there was the live counter, from which we hardly opted for anything. We next walked to the Indian counter to find chaats, knick knacks, and some tandoor starters, fish cutlets. Main course had a mix of North and South Indian options. The  Indian food was the right amount of spicy. We enjoyed ...
