At Jamjar Diner's on Friendship's Day

We visited Jamjar Diner's on the first Sunday of August, also known as the Friendships day, well whatever it is called we just need a reason to meet our friends. Due to it's increasing popularity the place was packed with guests that day. But we didnt budge either, since we had zeroed in on the location beforehand. We chose to wait our turn for about 20 minutes.
There happened to be about a small area in the bar section next to the big black telephone.

We ordered our craft beer of Gateway Brewery whilst we waited. I ordered for a White Zen while my partner went with a Doppelganger. He is already a huge fan of their beer. The drink was very refreshing, and I absolutely adored mine.

There was a huge turn up on that day,as it was a weekend. Friends and a lot of families were having a good time, while we were counting the minutes. Finally we got a place to sit upstairs. The terrace looked vibrant and inviting, and we got a corner table. However we were expecting another couple to join us, so we later got a bigger table inside. We ordered for a Pulled Pork Nachos to begin with, as a buffer dish till the other folks arrived.

Finally they did arrive, and four looked like a crowd on that table. We took a table inside, and looked out directly at the decor, the slanted cupboards, the Jukebox the place screamed fun from all angles. Even their menu, had a great many choices in cocktails and drinks. They ordered a Popcorn Mushroom, which came with a tangy dip.

Finally, for the mains we ordered a Juicy Lucy, Basil Pesto+Feta and Roasted Veggies,  BBQ Veggie and a Cuban Press. Food was good, and the time we spent was great. To be honest, I wanted the food to be better than what it tasted, because I had fallen in love with the ambiance so much. My Cuban press definitely lacked in seasonings and felt bland. Even the Pulled pork Nachos lacked in seasoning I felt. In fact I enjoyed the salad on the side more than the sandwich itself!

Some pictures are missing here. We had a couple of Jargaritas, which are famous in Jamjar. They were very flavorful fruit drinks and we ordered a repeat.

The place was pretty much empty by the time we called for the check. We thought of taking our picture only when all the food had been devoured. It was a day well spent.
I was happy with their beverages. I would probably come back to this place to sample a few other items from their menu.

The bad ass buffet at Global Fusion!

I have been to Global Fusion over eight times and I confess that till date I have never been able to taste all the dish on their menu. Such is the 'vastness' of their buffet! The very first time that we had been to this place, we were in for a surprise with this vast spread, but we learnt this soon enough and for our forthcoming trips we have been relatively prepared, because one cannot be fully prepared for this vast array of Asian food choices. Everything on their menu card happens to be on display, and one can order this together or in portions, for a fixed per head cost. Most of everything that they have on display are interesting options and good and the place is good value for money!  View from our Table 29 at Global Fusion Their display includes a Sushi counter. But my favorite is the Baked Prawn with Cheese and the Prawn Tempura. My husband is very fond of their Prawn Tempura and the Iceberg chicken. Their Tempura’s are perfectly crispy on the outside and m...

At 55 East, Grand Hyatt

We had the perfect Sunday lunch here. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with smiling faces, and ushered to a table. We went around to check the buffet spread and were convinced about trying it out.  To begin with we went to the Sushi counter. The sushis on display looked very interesting and we tried all of them. Perfectly balanced flavors and the quality was superlative. I believe we must have tried at least a couple of rounds of Sushi of all kinds, to our hearts content.  Next we tried the South Asian counters, which had the Indonesian, Singaporean flavors. There was a lot of prawns and fresh ingredients in these counters. Also there was the live counter, from which we hardly opted for anything. We next walked to the Indian counter to find chaats, knick knacks, and some tandoor starters, fish cutlets. Main course had a mix of North and South Indian options. The  Indian food was the right amount of spicy. We enjoyed ...
